A Monsoon Ride - Part II (Kappad - Bangalore)

Image
After a wonderful  Day 1 , it was 11 in the morning when I woke up the next day. Got freshen up in no time and we went to the wedding function. We left Kottakkal in the afternoon with our first destination set as Kappad beach. It started raining heavily just a while after we entered the highway. But, we were prepared for that.   Route Map - Day                                 It was cloudy and very dark when we reached  Kappad beach , but luckily rain stopped for a while. The historic beach where Vasco Da Gama landed for the first time in India five centuries ago, was completely deserted that evening owing to the heavy rains.                  Sometimes, certain things that you’ve been longing for, happen all of a sudden. For me, one of them was a long road trip in a Royal Enfield. With no second thoughts, I said yes and from there on the preparations began at high pace. Tickets were booked immediately, backpack, luggage tying ropes etc. were ordered, assemb...

A weekend in & around KANNUR...

The excitement was paramount that evening, when Jithin came to us and broke the news about his marriage. It was not only because he FINALLY found his soul mate after what seemed like an aeon, but also the opportunity presented in front of us to explore at least a few parts of Kannur – his native.  As usual, the planning process was started immediately, about hiring car, spots to be visited, number of days etc etc... Even places like Coorg, Mysore etc., were on the list. But things weren’t smooth this time, as few of us had to withdraw from the trip citing various reasons, non-availability of leaves and so on. And finally, it was just three of us, and we starting off from Trivandrum on that busy Friday night. Day 1                           After attending the simple but elegant wedding function next morning, we came ba...
